LAWTON — Remsen St. Mary’s will have six events travel to the state track meet after their times from the Class 1A state qualifying meet hosted by Lawton-Bronson were stacked up against the rest of the competition.

Five of the events come for the girls with Claire Schroeder advancing in four of those, two as an individual and two more in relays.

Schroeder is moving on the 100 meter dash and 100 meter hurdles. She won the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 15.83 which enters the state field as the fourth fastest overall time.

In the 100, she placed second behind South O’Brien’s Willa Sickelka who had a time of 12.70 which enters state as the fourth fastest. Schroeder’s 13.04 time is tied for the eighth fastest among the 24 runner state field.

Schroeder also anchors the shuttle hurdle relay which won with a time of 1:08.79 which is the third best time among all of the qualifiers. Halle Galles, Mya Bunkers and Whitney Jensen are the other members of that relay.

Schroeder’s fourth event is the 4x100 which grabbed the last at-large spot. The Hawks had a time of 52.92 which was fifth in the district, but still fast enough to move on. Galles, Jensen and Carmindee Ricke are the other members of that relay.

Jensen earned the other event qualification for the RSM girls. She finished third in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:01.62, but the time was good enough to place her near the middle of the 24 runner state field.

Brody Schorg earns the only state qualification for the RSM boys. In a tight race with MMCRU’s Owen Alesch, he finished .12 of a second behind, but his time of 2:02.74 is still the seventh fastest overall time in the 24 runner state field.
