Boys add five events
The Hinton boys added five events with four of those being individual events.
“The guys competed very well tonight and I was very happy with their effort,” Hinton boys coach Steve Diediker said. “We finished fifth overall which was higher than we were ranked going in based on times so we improved on our season bests in most areas.”
The field events proved to be the strength as the team qualified in the high jump, long jump and shot put. Beau DeRocher qualified in the long jump with the winning jump of 20-10. DeRocher also qualified as runner-up in the 400 meter dash with a time of 52.03. He enters state with the 16th best seed mark in both events.
