Le Mars soccer teams stay busy with games as regular season winds down

ROCK VALLEY ó The Le Mars Community girls soccer team earned a 4-1 win over Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley on Thursday.

Le Mars jumped out to a 1-0 lead by halftime before finding the back of the net three times in the second half.

Kylee Britt scored a hat trick for the Bulldogs as she had three of the teamís four goals. Athiei Malueth had the other goal for the team.

Le Mars improved to 5-4 after the win while BH/RV fell to 0-10.

LE MARS ó A combined five goals in the first half made up a high-scoring contest for the Le Mars Community girls soccer team on Friday against Spirit Lake.

Le Mars outscored the Indians 3-2 in the first half. In the second half, the Bulldogs added three more goals while holding their opponent scoreless.

Sarah Brown ended with a hat trick for the Bulldogs as she had half of the teamís goals. Zoe Wittkop, Maialen Ruiz De Argadoia and Natalie Vanderloo scored a goal apiece for Le Mars.

Maddy Waterhouse and Dani Christoffels scored the Spirit Lake goals.

Le Mars improved to 6-4 after the win while Spirit Lake fell to 3-6 with the loss.

SPIRIT LAKE ó The Le Mars Community boys soccer team had their losing streak stretch to seven following a 5-3 loss to Spirit Lake on Friday.

Both teams scored two goals in the first half, but the Indians had the advantage in the second half with three goals compared to one by the Bulldogs.

Jovany Kabongo led the Bulldogs with a pair of goals. The teamís other goal came from Dallas Fey.

Goalkeeper Arik Burnett made 15 saves, but also allowed two goals apiece to Austin Harms and Luis Blanco. Kaleb Lee had the other goal for the Indians.

Spirit Lake evened their record at 5-5 with the win while Le Mars dropped to 2-10 for the season with the loss.
