Le Mars third at East golf invite
SIOUX CITY ó The Le Mars Community girls golf team placed third out of seven teams at the Sioux City East Golf Invite held at Floyd Park Golf Course on Wednesday.
It was a close finish for the top spot with the top four teams all scoring in the 360s across the 18 holes. Sergeant Bluff-Luton took the team title with a 361, followed by Bishop Heelan with a 366, Le Mars with a 367 and Sioux City North with a 369.
Northís Avery Beller had the top individual score of the day with a 78. Heelanís Anna Fenton was runner-up with an 80.
Dani Hurt took third for Le Mars with an 83. She matched par on three holes in her first nine. She then hit even on four par-3 holes in her second nine.
Taylor Mackey finished with a 90 as she tied with Heelanís Madi Cramer for the final places in the top eight. She matched par on three of the holes on the front nine and one on the back half.
Zoe Wittkop took the final spot in the top 10 with a 93. She scored even on the par-3 fourth for her best hole of the day.
The Le Mars team score was completed with a 101 from Jada Plueger. Kelsey Feuerhelm (129) and Averie Morgan (132) had the other two scores of the day for the Bulldogs.
