100 Years of RSM Baseball Celebration to take place over Memorial Day Weekend
Some RSM baseball, good food, a scholarship award, raffle, memorabilia display, an alumni baseball game, and much more are in store for the 100 Years of RSM Baseball Celebration, which will take place on May 29 and May 30.
According to a press release, which can also be found on the Remsen St. Mary’s School website, “The celebration will begin on Saturday, May 29 at 11 a.m., when the 2021 RSM Varsity Hawks bat their first tournament of the season.”
The celebration continues at 6 p.m., Saturday evening at The Triangle. Alumni are invited to come down and catch up or reminisce about their RSM baseball days. There will be a freewill donation Taco Bar and memorabilia display.
“An Alumni Baseball game will take place on Sunday, May 30, starting at 1 p.m. Shelter doors will open at 12 p.m. for food and beverages, with Total Motors in Le Mars being the food sponsor."
Besides celebrating 100 years of RSM Baseball, the celebration hopes to raise money for improvements to the backstop, improvements or replacement of the Crows Nest, and improvements or replacement of the concession stand.
One way to raise funds to make these improvements will be an Online Auction, which will take place from May 22 through May 27. According to the press release, “Bidding will start at 10 a.m. on May 22 and close at 8 p.m. on May 27. Visit https://www.iowaauctiongroup.com to register and bid. The four auction items include: the first pitch of the first game for RSM during the RSM Varsity Tournament on May 29 with an embroidered RSM ball (ball is made and donated by Luann Nigrone); the first pitch of the second game for RSM during the RSM Varsity Tournament on May 29 with an embroidered RSM ball (ball is made and donated by Luann Nigrone); an engraved and autographed by the RSM 2021 Baseball Team bat donated by Brad and Jessica Klein; and a custom made wooden RSM bat made by Paul Ahlers and the RSM Shop Class.

There will be plenty of baseball fun to be had during the 100 Years of RSM Baseball Celebration on May 29 and May 30.
