KINGSLEY — The home advantage of the Brookside Golf Course helped the Kingsley-Pierson boys golf team score a win over South Sioux City (Neb.) on Thursday. The Panthers scored a 180 compared to a 203 for the Cardinals.

Medalist for the meet was K-P golfer Brayden Wilson who finished with a 38 score, just two over par for the course. He matched par on the first three holes, bogeyed the next two before hitting even on the par-4 sixth and seventh holes. After a one-over on the par-4 eighth he birdied the par-5 ninth to finish his round.

Chris Love of South Sioux City was runner up with a 40, but no one else on the team got under 50 as the Panthers got their other three counting scores below that mark. Vince Koelling came around with a 45 for the day with even pars on three holes.

Cale Anstine came in next with a 48 which included one even par hole. Jake Utesch matched par on three holes, but one bad hole kept him from what could have been an even better day. He finished with a 49 despite a +6 on the eighth hole.

Jackson Boustead (54) and Emerson Pratt (55) were the two who did not have their scores computed for the team scoring.

The Panthers will be at their third WVC meet Monday hosted by MVAOCOU.
