As the Remsen Chamber makes plans for the Annual Easter Egg Hunt, which will take place on Saturday, April 3 for this year, people will notice a few differences this year as opposed to past Easter events. After taking last year off due to COVID-19, the Remsen Chamber of Commerce is planning on having the Annual Easter Egg Hunt, but with a few modifications. They are planning to hold the event outdoors on Saturday, April 3, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. for children ages 0-8 at the Remsen Football Field.

Remsen Chamber Director Alicia Hoffman stated, “The Easter Egg Hunt will be at the Remsen Football Field instead of the gym to help with a safer outdoor location due to COVID-19. This will allow the event to host more children then what we could have in the gym. It will also allow for more social distancing.”

Another new feature this year is that tickets will be required for each child to turn in before they can participate in the Easter Egg Hunt. Hoffman explained, “Tickets are required, as there is a limited number available, and they will need to be picked up at City Hall or Iowa State Bank prior to the event. When tickets are turned in, each child will receive a bag to be used for the Easter Egg Hunt.”

One aspect that hasn’t changed is the drawing for prizes at the end of the Easter Egg Hunt, as Hoffman states, “Like in the past, following the Easter Egg Hunt, prizes will be drawn for each age group. You do have to be present to win.”

The Remsen Chamber is excited to be holding the event this year and appreciates the generous donations from Chamber businesses that make the event possible.
