Scoopfuls of ICD Fun
The 27th annual Ice Cream Days Festival officially kicked off Thursday, June 16. The three days of activities began with the Le Mars Area Chamber of Commerce coffee at the Wells Visitor Center. Wells CEO Mike Wells addressed attendees. A family bike ride marked the start of the family-inspired activities on Thursday night. The Le Mars Police Department was on hand to distribute free bicycle helmets to any child in need of one. A handful of families participated in this year’s bike ride that led them from the Olson Cultural Events Center to the ice cream social at Primebank. At Primebank, attendees showed up to enjoy some ice cream and the musical likings of the Noteables. Iowa State Fair Queen McKenna Henrich of Akron was in attendance to welcome the crowd and serve ice cream. Following the ice cream social, people headed over to Total Motors where they enjoyed the showing of Disney’s “Frozen” on two 17x10-foot trailed screens from Insane Impact. Total Motors once again served as the host site, while American Bank served popcorn and water, and Blue Bunny offered free ice cream treats to attendees.
