For all their sacrifices

(Sentinel Photos by Beverly Van Buskirk) A large crowd attended the 56th annual Avenue of Flags ceremony at the Plymouth County Courthouse on Memorial Day. Nearly 1,400 flags were waving in the breeze, with 46 new flags added by families and friends for veterans for the years 2020 and 2021. The program included the Fallen Soldier Battle Cross, wreath presentations for the Civil War through Post-Vietnam Conflicts and War on Terrorism, Lighting the Flame of Remembrance, the reading of the flag roster and the rifle volley/Taps. Music was provided by the Le Mars Municipal Band.
