Le Mars United Way Annual Campaign wrapping up

Wednesday, January 18, 2023

LE MARS — As the end of the annual campaign nears, the Le Mars United Way is pleased to announce they have raised $240,000 total to date, thanks to the generosity of thousands of supporters in the community.

United Way is dedicated to strengthening the Le Mars community and Plymouth County by creating positive change through two goals: Helping Children Grow into Successful Adults and Providing Safety Net Services.

“We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has contributed to the campaign,” said Maggie Erdmann, of Gehlen Catholic School and this year’s Le Mars United Way board chair. “This will ensure area children can take part in programs to better prepare them for school and life beyond the classroom. These contributions will also make sure friends and neighbors will be taken care of during their greatest time of need.”

Erdmann said all contributions go to programs that provide services to Plymouth County residents. She did note the current amount raised is short of last year’s campaign total.

“Last year with the support of the community we were able to provide funding to 21 programs,” she said. “We would love to provide funding to just as many programs, if not more of them.”

Le Mars is still accepting donations. Those interested in contributing can call 712-255-3551.
