MMCRU/RSM bowlers keep on rolling against West Sioux, H-M-S
HAWARDEN — Bowlers from MMCRU/RSM continued their winning ways with wins over West Sioux on Tuesday at Sportsman’s Lanes.
The boys team scored a 2,750 total to beat out a 2,316 tally from the Falcons.
Austin Klein had the top series score of the meet with a 436. He also had the top game with a 237.
Colbey Penning was next with a 376 while Bryce Staab added a 342. Those two each had top games of 192.
Carson Loutsch rolled a 330 and Carver Miller tallied a 313 to complete the top five counting scores.
The team had a Baker game total of 953, working out to an average of 190.6 per game.
The girls team tallied a 2,330 score to easily finish above a 1,592 score from West Sioux.
Hannah Klein had the top series score of the day with a 368. Maci Gravenish was next with a 339 series. Gravenish had a top game score of 191 which was one behind Breanna Staab for best on the team. Staab’s overall series score was a 319, two behind Olivia Flewelling. Taytem Pedersen completed the top five for the team with a 315 series.
The group collaborated for a 668 Baker game total for an average of 133.6 per game.
The West Sioux teams dropped to 1-2 with the losses.
REMSEN — The MMCRU/RSM bowlers returned to action Thursday at Maple Lanes Bowl where they added to their win totals as each team improved to 6-0 on the season.
The boys came out on top by a 2,854-2,667 tally. The team had the top four individual scores of the day. Bryce Staab led the team with a 437 series, the only series score over 400. His 233 game score was the second best of the day, trailing only the 235 rolled by teammate Carson Loutsch in one of his games. Loutsch finished third on the overall leaderboard with a 390 series. He was two behind teammate Colbey Penning and three better than teammate Austin Klein on the day.
Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn freshman Riley Russell was next with a 374 series as the Hawks had the next six scores. Marcus Aaron was four pins behind his teammate. Caleb Aaron added a 354, three better than Jack Mastbergen. Drew Prins had the final counting score with a 314.
Dawson Niichel had a non-counting 308 which matched the last MMCRU/RSM score from Carver Miller. Caleb Gravenish rolled a 293 which was not used towards the team score.
The winning team had an average of 188 in their Baker games to beat out the 180.8 average Baker game score from H-M-S.
The MMCRU/RSM girls won by a 2,557-1,937 score. H-M-S freshman Jordan Lux led all bowlers with a 372 series.
After that is was the home team turning in the next six scores. Breanna Staab led the way with a 351. Olivia Flewelling was next with a 338 while Taytem Pedersen was three behind. Callie Arens added a 315 and Maci Gravenish completed the counting team scores with a 306. Hannah Klein’s 278 series was not used in the team scoring.
The team used a Baker game average of 182.4 to total a 912 in that portion of the meet, better than the 629 total from H-M-S.
Both H-M-S teams had a 1-2 record after the losses.
