Cranksgiving bike ride to gather food donations

Monday, November 14, 2022

LE MARS ó Bicyclists will be able to get one more ride in for the season while helping a good cause with the first annual Food Drive on 2 Wheels Cranksgiving sponsored by the Plymouth County Cyclists.

The event will benefit residents in the county area who need a little assistance at the holiday times with food and household items collected during a bicycle scavenger hunt on Nov. 19, said cyclists member Kati Bak.

The event starts at 10 a.m., Saturday, at Bike Central, 200 Central Ave. N.E., with a fellowship time before pedaling the streets, alleys and trails of Le Mars. There will be munchies, fun and prizes at the event.

Donations of food will support the Le Mars Christian Needs Center.

Whether itís food items for a holiday meal, nonperishable grocery items or toiletry/household items, all donations are appreciated.

Donations may also be dropped off at Bike Central Bike Shop through the afternoon of Nov. 19.
