Hintonís Boeve named to All-Tournament team
CORALVILLE ó Hinton freshman Bailey Boeve was one of seven individuals named to the Class 2A All-Tournament team.
The announcement came at the state volleyball tournament on Thursday after an exciting five-set 2A title match between No. 1 seed Dike-New Hartford and No. 2 seed Western Christian. The Wolfpack rallied for a 16-14 win in the fifth set to knock off the two-time defending champion and claim their 18th all-time championship.
Boeve helped the Blackhawks to a 3-1 win over Denver in the quarterfinals of the Class 2A tournament at Xtream Arena. She finished with 22 kills with a .370 hitting efficiency in that win. She also had four solo blocks and three block assists and tied for the team lead with 16 digs in the win.
Against Dike-New Hartford, Boeve led the team with nine kills and had the teamís only solo block.
Other members of the All-Tournament team were Abby VerBurg of Western Christian, Jadyn and Payton Petersen of Dike-New Hartford, Isabelle Elliott of Sumner-Fredericksburg and Molly Shafer of Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont. Stella Winterfeld of Western Christian was named the captain of the All-Tournament team.
