Celebrating tradition and heritage at the 49th Annual Oktoberfest

During the Children’s Bavarian Costume & Dance Contest, the 2022 Prince and Princess were crowned. This year’s winners were Kennyon Mohning, eight-year-old son of Joe and Kristine Mohning, and Madisyn Utesch, ten-year-old daughter of David and Alisa Utesch.

Polka Music filled the St. Mary’s High School Gymnasium in the afternoon and evening. The Jim Busta Band out of LaCrosse, Wis., took the stage first from 2:30-5:30 p.m. Many couples took to the dance floor to enjoy the music during Oktoberfest.

The Luxembourg Heritage Society had their display set up in the St. Mary’s Gymnasium from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. More pictures from the Oktoberfest festivities are in the November 3, 2022 edition of the Remsen Bell.
