GTRA knocks Kingsley-Pierson out of football playoffs

RUTHVEN The Kingsley-Pierson football team had their season end the way it began, with a loss to Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire. The Panthers fell by a final score of 50-34 in the first round of the 8-player playoffs on Friday. The team lost by a 40-38 margin at the start of the season.

Most of the offense for the Titans went through Max Hough. He completed 10-of-22 passes for 190 yards and two touchdowns and also rushed 26 times for 279 yards and three scores. The longest of his three touchdown runs went for 68 yards.

His two touchdown passes went to Jordan Saul who was the leading receiver for the Titans with six catches for 122 yards.

Eric Heinrichs completed his only pass for a 26-yard touchdown to Kory Hough.

Drew Schnell added an 18-yard rushing touchdown and caught four passes for 68 yards for the Titans.

The Titans intercepted the ball three times in the game. Heinrichs led the defense with 13 tackles, four of which went for loss.

Stats for Kingsley-Pierson were unavailable at press time.

Kingsley-Pierson finishes the season with a 4-5 record. All five losses came to other playoff qualifying teams. The Panthers had 13 senior players on their roster.

GTRA (8-1) will travel to play West Harrison (9-0) in their Round of 16 game.
