A-W runs at Alcester-Hudson
ALCESTER, S.D. — Akron-Westfield competed in a cross country meet hosted by Alcester-Hudson at the Alcester Golf Course on Monday.
Vermillion had the top six runners in the race of 28 boys, led by a 17:18.82 finish for Joel Dahloff. After all of those Vermillion runners, Akron-Westfield’s Cael Morrow was the first from another team to finish the race. The junior took the seventh place spot with a time of 20:10.22.
Noah Boie was 12th overall and the next A-W runner to finish. The sophomore finished in a time of 21:35.43, edging out an Elk Point-Jefferson runner by .05 of a second.
Tanner Frerichs and Dawson Trobaugh finished back-to-back for the 23rd and 24th place spots, finishing on either side of the 25-minute mark. Jeremiah Bruget finished 27th with a time of 27:21.98.
The Westerners had two girls compete. Jolie Sabaliauskas was 19th in a time of 27:47.85. Josalyn Bruget was 22nd in 28:51.03.
Vermillion’s Taeli Barta won the race of 25 runners with a time of 21:13.12.
