Le Mars United Way kicks off campaign with golf fundraiser
LE MARS — Golfers in Le Mars teed off Thursday, Sept. 1,t in support of a wonderful cause.
The Le Mars United Way launched its 2022-23 campaign with the 18th Annual Golf Fundraiser. The tournament featured 22 registered teams of four competing for the top spot.
Maggie Erdmann, this year’s Le Mars United Way Board Chair, said they raised over $7,550 from the tournament to help the Le Mars United Way reach a campaign goal of over $250,000.
“The golf tournament is a wonderful way for everyone to get together and celebrate the kickoff of the campaign,” said Erdmann. “The more we can grow, the more we can do to support our community. Our local charities are devoted to ensuring children grow into successful adults and that adequate safety net services are available for people in need or facing crisis.”
Erdmann went on to congratulate this year’s winning team sponsored by Primebank: Travis Pasker, Austin Sitzmann, Jordan Sitzmann, and Tim Claussen.
The annual event has turned into a great success thanks to the Le Mars United Way board of directors and local businesses that help with prize and food donations. Special thanks to Janelle and Ben Johnson and the Plymouth County Pork Producers for providing lunch.
