Friends of the Library to hold one day used book sale Sept. 28

(Sentinel file photo) Whether its cleaning the shelves at the Le Mars Public Library, or patrons and area residents donating books, there will be a wide variety to choose from at the Friends of the Le Mars Public Library Book Sale, Wednesday, Sept. 28.

LE MARS The Friends of the Le Mars Public Library will host a one-day used book sale from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 28.

The sale location is 520 Fourth St. S.W., just south of Kwik Star.

Fiction genres available for sale include mystery, thrillers, romance, westerns, science fiction, large print fiction, youth fiction, easy readers, picture books, and board books.

Nonfiction book genres include self-help, family/ relationships, biographies, health/fitness, US history, military history, US culture, politics, travel, and cookbooks.

Most items available for sale are priced at $1 or $2. Cash, check, or credit card will be accepted for payment.

Mary Albrecht, treasurer of the Friends of the Library, is one of the organizers of the sale.

We decided to have a one-day sale to get books into the hands of readers, Albrecht said. We plan to hold sales more often and have scheduled the next sale for Thursday, Oct. 20, and Friday, Oct. 21.

Proceeds from the sale will go to the Friends of the Library which provides support for library programming such as the Summer Reading Program, Adult Winter Reading, Books 4 Treats, and Santa at the Library.
