Kingsley-Pierson volleyball finds success at OABCIG tourney
ODEBOLT — The Kingsley-Pierson volleyball team had a successful weekend at a tournament hosted by OABCIG as they finished 3-1. The team had gone just 2-10 to begin the season.
The team picked up a sweep over Coon Rapids-Bayard by set scores of 21-13 and 21-8. Karah Hill had the hot hand in the match with eight kills with a .615 kill efficiency. Jorja Howe added three kills and Allison Reinking and Reagan Vos chipped in two apiece.
Gabby Boustead had four ace serves and Reagan Vos added three.
It was a 2-1 win for the Panthers over AHSTW. The Panthers won the first set 21-13, dropped the second 21-14 and edged out an extended third set 16-14.
Reinking had the most kills against the Vikings with five. Vos added four while Avery Schroeder, Gabby Boustead and Hill chipped in three apiece.
The team picked up nine aces with all six in the serving rotation recording at least one. Reinking led the way with three.
Boustead led the team with nine digs while Reinking had a block to lead the defensive categories.
The team avenged a 3-0 loss to Lawton-Bronson earlier in the week with a 2-1 win. The Eagles won the first set 21-17, but the Panthers took the next two 21-19 and 15-12.
Schroeder and Reinking tied for the team lead in kills against the Eagles with six apiece. Next on the team was Jorja Howe who was second on the team with nine assists, one less than Vos.
The team had eight ace serves in the match, half of which came from Vos who was a perfect 16-of-16 on her serve attempts. Vos also led the team with 12 digs.
The team lost to the host school in straight sets by scores of 21-18 and 21-15.
Reinking led the Panthers with seven kills and 13 digs in the match.
