Kingsley-Pierson volleyball competes at South Central Calhoun

ROCKWELL CITY ó The Kingsley-Pierson volleyball team competed at the Master Blaster tournament hosted by South Central Calhoun on Saturday.

The Panthers came up short against the host school in straight sets by scores of 21-17 and 21-12. Allison Reinking led the Panthers with five kills and six digs. Avery Schroeder added three kills while Jorja Howe and Gabby Boustead added two kills apiece. Reagan Vos had the lone ace serve for the team and had seven assists.

The Panthers dropped their match to East Sac County in two sets by scores of 21-15 and 21-17. Schroeder led the team with five kills and also had an ace. Karah Hill added four and Reinking ended with three. Howe led the team with 11 digs to go along with four assists and an ace.

K-P fell 2-1 to Carroll. The team won the second set 21-12, but dropped the other two sets, 21-17 and 15-8.

Howe led the team with four kills while also picking up five assists, two less than team leader Vos. Reinking and Hill each had three kills.

Hill and Schroeder each had a pair of ace serves. Boustead led the team with 11 digs.

The team beat Winterset by identical scores of 21-19 in each set. Reinking powered down 11 kills and Boustead added eight to lead the Panthers to the win. Vos led the team with 11 assists, eight digs and five ace serves.

The Panthers fell to Class 2A No. 14 Kuemper Catholic by a 2-1 score. The Panthers won the second set 21-16, but dropped the other two by scores of 21-9 and 15-5.

Reinking led the team with five kills while Boustead ended with two. Reagan Vos had the teamís two ace serves as she had three assists while splitting time with Howe at the setter spot as she ended with five assists. Makenna Bowman led the defense with five digs.

The Panthers lost in straight sets to conference foe Ridge View by scores of 21-14 and 21-13.

Reinking had four kills and Boustead added three as the top hitters for K-P. Reinking added two aces serves as she was successful on all six of her attempts from the service line.

Kingsley-Piersonís record stood at 1-8 at the end of the tournament.
