No. 1 RSM shuts out Siouxland Christian

SIOUX CITY ó 8-player top-ranked Remsen St. Maryís won by a final score of 73-0 over Siouxland Christian in a district contest Friday.

The Hawks scored in all phases of the game, getting touchdowns on offense, defense and special teams.

Cael Ortmann had a near-perfect passing night. He was 10-of-11 for 182 yards and three touchdowns. He connected with Ryan Willman five times for 57 yards and two scores. Brenden Fisch added a 33-yard touchdown on his only catch of the game. Alex Schroeder had two catches for 64 yards.

The team added another passing score with Keaton Harpenau completing his only pass for a 15-yard score to Landon Waldschmitt.

The team was also successful running the football. Schroeder led the team with 35 rushing yards, one more than Harpenau and Fisch. Schroeder rushed for one score and Fisch added two. Brady Koenck added the other rushing touchdown.

Defensively, Jaxon Bunkers had a pair of fumble recoveries returned for touchdowns. Harpenau added an interception while Isaiah Gerrietts, the teamís leading tackler with 4.5 tackles, added another interception.

On special teams, Fisch had a 66-yard kickoff return for a score.

RSM improved to 3-0 with the win. They will host Kingsley-Pierson on Friday.
