RSM to celebrate homecoming in the style of Disney

REMSEN — Remsen St. Mary’s will celebrate homecoming week Sept. 19-23 with the theme “Where Dreams Come True” which follows in the style of Disney.

Monday’s dress up day on Sept. 19 will be Prince and Princess and will include a Mass at 8:15 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church. The public is welcome to attend Mass.

On Tuesday, students will help Bo-Peep find her sheep as they will dress up like farmers.

On Wednesday, the 1998 movie, “The Parent Trap” will guide the dress up day. Students will dress like their parents.

On Thursday, the 2013 movie “Monsters University” guides the dress up day as students will be able to sport their favorite team’s clothing.

Friday finishes out the week with Spirit Day as the Hawks will wear their school colors of Blue and White.

Friday will be a jam-packed day. Coronation will be held at 9 a.m. in the Jerry and Marlene Harpenau Gym with the public welcome to attend.

Members of the homecoming court include queen candidates: Gracyn Schroeder, the daughter of Jay and Tami Schroeder; Olivia Pottebaum, the daughter of Jeff and Jessica Pottebaum; Peyton Frederes, the daughter of Shonden Wurth and Chris Frederes; and Jordyn Harpenau, the daughter of Monte and Paige Harpenau.

King candidates are: Alex Schroeder, the son of Greg and Erin Schroeder; Jaxon Bunkers, the son of Jeremy and Stacy Bunkers; Cael Ortmann, the son of Bill and Brenda Ortmann; and Kadden Groepper, the son of Shannon Groepper.

After the coronation, a parade will be held at 11 a.m. Lineup for the parade will begin at 10:45 a.m. on the east side of the high school. Anyone willing to enter the parade may do so without registration.

After the parade, a pep rally will take place at approximately

11:45 a.m.

Friday night will see the Hawks host Fort Dodge St. Edmond on the gridiron.

Other athletic events for the week include RSM cross country at Sheldon on Monday, Sept. 19. The RSM volleyball team will travel to face Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn

on Tuesday.
