Bavarian Meadows to celebrate National Assisted Living Week
This year assisted living communities around the country will be celebrating National Assisted Living Week from September 11 through September 17.
“Joyful Moments" is this year's theme for National Assisted Living Week.
The history of National Assisted Living Week from the American Health Care Association (AHCA) and National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL) website https://www.ahcancal.org stated, “Established by the National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL) in 1995, National Assisted Living Week® provides a unique opportunity for residents, their loved ones, staff, volunteers, and the surrounding communities to recognize the role of assisted living in caring for America’s seniors and individuals with disabilities. The annual observance encourages assisted living communities around the country to offer a variety of events and activities to celebrate the individuals they serve, as well as to help educate members of the public about this distinctive aspect of long-term care.”
Locally at Bavarian Meadows Senior Living, they will have many things planned to celebrate this special week. Kicking off the week on Sunday, Sept. 11, will be a picnic for the residents, their families, and the staff. On Tuesday, Sept. 13, the Chicken and Waffles Food Truck will be in the front parking lot from 3:00-8:00 p.m., and the public is welcome to come out and enjoy their menu. On Friday afternoon, Sept. 16, from 1:00-4:30 p.m., local coffee shop, Fat Annie’s, will serve their drip coffee, cold brew, and Lotus drinks at Bavarian Meadows. This too is open to the public, so come out and enjoy one of their drinks, perhaps with one of the residents.
Bavarian Meadow’s corporate chef will be coming one day to make lunch for residents and staff, and Bavarian Meadows will be having some dress up days throughout the week. Though they will keep most of their regular activities during the week, there will also be additional programs with plans to have something for everyone to enjoy.
