ALTON/REMSEN On Saturday, August 20 and Sunday, August 21, it was magnificent weather for the fifth annual Ryder Cup competition to be held at Sioux Golf and Country Club and Remsen Golf Club. After Saturday in Alton, the Best Ball and Alternate formats ended with a lead by Sioux Golf of 11.5 to 8.5 by the 10 two-man teams from each course.

The event continued in Remsen on Sunday, playing Best Shot and Singles Match Play formats. The Remsen team came back strong but couldn't quite overcome the Alton teams, and the event ended in a tie for the traveling trophy to be retained by Sioux Golf until next year.

Both courses and their players would like to thank all the sponsors and anyone who helped put on the event.
