The Remsen St. Mary’s baseball team finished as the runner-up in Class 1A as they fell to New London by a final score of 807 at Merchants Park in Carroll on Friday, July 22.

The Hawks jumped out to a 3-0 lead after an inning, but fell behind 8-4 in the middle innings. The Hawks rallied for three runs in the bottom of the sixth to pull to within a run and loaded the bases in the bottom of the seventh, but could not bring home the potential tying or winning runs.

Remsen St. Mary’s finishes the season with a 35-1 record. The team was playing in their seventh summer state championship game as they are now 4-3 in those contests.

The Hawks graduate two players from this year’s roster, Carter Schorg and Brody Schorg.

More from the July 22 championship game will be published in the August 5, 2022 edition of the Remsen Bell.
