MMCRU softball earns win over West Sioux

REMSEN The MMCRU softball team picked up a win over West Sioux by a 12-5 score in War Eagle Conference action Monday.

Tied at 3-3 after three innings, the Royals scored two in the fourth, six in the fifth and one more in the sixth to pull away for the win.

Taylor Harpenau was just a home run away from hitting for the cycle in a 3-for-4 game at the plate. She led the team with 3 RBI in the game.

Breanna Staab, Isabelle Olson and Jordan Staab added 2 RBI games for the Royals. Emily Dreckman and Jaelyn Kabisch had the other RBIs for the team.

Olson pitched the win as she went the full seven innings in the circle. She gave up three earned runs on seven hits and a walk. She ended the night with four strikeouts.

The Royals brought an end to a three game losing stretch with the win as they improved to 8-7 overall. West Sioux slipped to 3-9 with the loss.

The West Sioux baseball team won 11-1 over MMCRU. Statistics from that game were unavailable at press time.
