Throwing it back drive in style
LE MARS — What better way for a family to spend time together then taking in a movie?
Total Motors is once again serving as the host site for the Ice Cream Days Festival’s drive in movie on Thursday, June 16.
This year’s feature presentation, “Frozen,” will be shown at 8:30 p.m. in the Total Motors parking lot, 801 Hawkeye Ave. S.W.
“Ice Cream Days in Le Mars is about being together with our families and enjoying our time together,” said Total Motors General Manager Mitch Christoffel. “We look forward to providing a wonderful family event each year that’s unique in our community. American Bank and Total Motors believe in being heavily involved and a significant part of our community.”
The Disney classic will be shown on two 17x10-foot trailered screens from Insane Impact. Attendees will have their choice of listening from lawn chairs, blankets or from their own vehicle by tuning in to FM 90.1.
Christoffel said the lot will open at 6:30 p.m. for those who want to come early and claim their spot as parking and seating may be limited as the event draws on average 1,000 to 1,200 attendees.
Music will be played leading up to the movie, as well as American Bank will be serving popcorn and water, with Blue Bunny providing complimentary sweet treats, while they last. Habitué will also be on hand selling specialty drinks.
“To me, the best part is when the sun is down and all attention is on the screens. It’s a peaceful and enjoyable feeling,” Christoffel shared.
“It’s a very comfortable and relaxing event during Ice Cream Days that people of all ages can enjoy. This great family-friendly event and its atmosphere will have you ready to enjoy the rest of Ice Cream Days in Le Mars.”
