No. 1 RSM baseball drubs GT/RA
REMSEN — The Class 1A No. 1 ranked Remsen St. Mary’s baseball team showed their dominance with a 20-1 win over Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire in non-conference action Thursday. The game lasted just four innings.
Remsen St. Mary’s scored nine runs in the first. After the Titans scored one in the top of the third, the Hawks brought home their final 11 runs in the third.
Cael Ortmann led the team at the plate. He was 4-for-4 with 6 RBI in the contest. He reached on two singles and two doubles.
Carter Schorg, Brenden Fisch and Jaxon Bunkers all finished with 2 RBI games. Six others had an RBI apiece.
The Hawks had 12 hits in the game and also reached on 10 walks and six hit-by-pitches.
Remsen St. Mary’s got 17 of their runs against starter Blake Rosacker and the last three against Koda Saul.
Ortmann pitched the win for the team as he went three innings giving up the run on five hits and three walks. He ended with one strikeout.
Jaxon Bunkers pitched the final inning and struck out three batters to close out the win.
Remsen St. Mary’s improved to 17-0 with the win. GT/RA fell to 4-10 with the loss.
