Green light given for LFR salary changes
LE MARS — The Le Mars City Council made quick work of the consent grouping items at its June 7 meeting.
One of the items was the Le Mars Fire-Rescue and Emergency Services personnel salaries for FY ‘23.
Le Mars Fire-Rescue Chief David Schipper had submitted recommended salaries for FY ‘23 to the city for approval.
The changes to the salaries for the coming year were made in the captain and lieutenant pay and the F.A.O. (fire apparatus operator/night staffing) pay.
A review of current wages had been discussed with the officers of the Le Mars Fire-Rescue Department and Schipper.
They requested the following pay scale be adopted and implemented from July 1, 2022 through July 1, 2023.
Captains - $150/pay period
Lieutenants - $100 pay period
Sec/Trea. - $100/pay period
Firefighter - $15.25/hour
Driver/EMR/EMT/AEMT/Paramedic (fire/rescue calls in town transfer calls - $15.25/hour
Driver/Out Of Town Transfer Call - $12/hour
EMR/Out Of Town Transfer Call - $15.25/hour
EMT /Out Of Town Transfer Call- $20/hour
AEMT/Out Of Town Transfer Call - $22/hour
Paramedic/Out Of Town Transfer Call - $25/hour
Haz-Mat Tech - $20/pay period
F.A.O. pay - $80/night/day
LOSAP (retirement) - $35/per year
Holiday F.A.O. supplement - $45/night/day
Also on the consent items listing were the renewal of liquor license/outdoor service areas for Hy-Vee, Iowa BBQ and P’s Pizza, as well as new 5-day liquor license permit for the Knights of Columbus at the Riverview Ball Complex July 21-25, and an amendment for Wise I Brewing for a outdoor service area for the Bomb Pop Sour release on July 2.
In addition, a request by Wise I Brewing to close a portion of the alley east of their business from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., was also made for the July 2 event.
The council approved all of the consent grouping items.
