RSM routs Trinity
HULL — The Remsen St. Mary’s softball and baseball teams won big over Trinity Christian in War Eagle Conference action Wednesday.
The Class 1A No. 7 ranked softball team won 12-0 in a full seven innings as the team scored two in the first, two in the third, three in the fifth and five in the seventh.
Jacie Homan, Octavia Galles, Marina Cronin and Hannah Klein each had 2 RBI games for the Hawks.
The team finished with 13 hits. Claire Schroeder and Mya Bunkers each had three hits with Bunkers ending a home run shy of hitting for the cycle.
All of the runs scored against Maesa Cleveringa who worked the full seven innings.
Cronin pitched the win with nine strikeouts in six innings. Tessa Tentinger pithed an inning of relief.
RSM improved to 10-0 with the win. Trinity fell to 0-6 with the loss.
Top-ranked Hawks win big
The Class 1A No. 1 ranked RSM baseball team won 14-0 in five innings. The Hawks scored nine in the second and five in the third for all of their scoring in the game.
Carter Schorg and Brenden Fisch led the team with 3 RBI games. Schorg had a home run in the win while Fisch had a triple as part of his three hit night.
Cael Ortmann and Hunter Pick added 2 RBI games.
The Hawks had 12 different players record a hit as they finished with 19 hits in the game. All of the runs came against Alec DeBoer who pitched four innings.
Ryan Willman struck out seven in four innings to get the win. He gave up just one hit and one walk. Collin Homan tossed an inning of relief and struck out one.
RSM moved to 16-0 with the win. Trinity fell to 1-6 with the loss.
