Hinton baseball blasts Lawton-Bronson
LAWTON — The Hinton baseball team came away with a 15-0 win over Lawton-Bronson in a non-conference contest Tuesday. After a bit of a slow start with just one run scored in the first four innings, the Blackhawks piled on the runs late with five in the fifth, two in the sixth and seven in the seventh.
Dylan DeVries led the team with a 5 RBI game. He had a single, double, reached on a pair of walks and was also hit by a pitch.
Brody Spies added a 3 RBI game as he had a pair of singles and also reached via walk and error.
Carter Worden added the other multi-hit game with two singles. Glen Carlson reached on four walks and scored three runs. Owen Eli reached on two walks, a hit-by-pitch and a single.
The Blackhawks scored runs against all four pitchers they faced including Kurtus Palsma who took the loss with four runs allowed in his start.
Gavin Nelson struck out 11 and gave up just two hits in his six innings on the mound. Eli struck out two in an inning of relief.
Hinton improved to 8-2 with the win. Lawton-Bronson dropped to 4-4 with the loss.
