Hwy 75 accident by Hinton turns fatal
PLYMOUTH CO. — A two vehicle accident at 5:45 a.m., Tuesday, June 7, on Highway 75 southbound and County Road C-70 resulted in a fatality.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, Uzael Abraham, 22, of Sioux City, was driving a 1998 Honda Civic southbound on Highway 75 when a 2015 Nisson Sentra driven by David Diaz, 30, of Sioux City came from behind and struck the Abraham vehicle.
The impact caused the Abraham vehicle to spin and come to rest in the median.
Abraham was taken to MercyOne Siouxland Medical Center in Sioux City with critical injuries, according to the report.
A passenger in the vehicle, Ermiohne Joswa, 45, of Sioux City, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Dias sustained minor injuries.
The accident is still under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol.
Hinton Fire/EMS transported Abraham and Diaz to MercyOne in Sioux City and Joswa to Floyd Valley Healthcare in Le Mars.
The Iowa State Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office, Hinton Fire/EMS and Stockton Towing.
