Betty Claudine Wells, 92, (Nee Hart and Schipper), of Shorewood, Minnesota, and a native of Le Mars, died of natural causes on Monday, Sept. 20, 2021, at her home in Shorewood.
Betty Claudine Hart was born Sept. 28, 1928, and grew up in Le Mars. She graduated from Le Mars Community High School in 1946. Betty Hart married Glenn Dwight Schipper Oct. 23, 1950. Glenn died in an airplane accident in 1959, leaving Betty with their two sons, Scott Thomas and Mark Stuart Schipper.
Betty Schipper married Fay Robert Wells Dec. 31, 1968. Their 37-year marriage ended with Fay’s death on June 27, 2005. The couple resided in Le Mars, and Naples, Florida.
They enjoyed traveling and spending time with their children and grandchildren.
Betty is survived by her son and his wife, Scott and Debra Schipper of Shorewood, Minnesota, and their children Mark Schipper and Paulette Baer of Chicago, Illinois, Katherine Schipper of Encinitas, California, and Elizabeth Schipper Scott and Jeremy Scott of Bozeman, Montana, and by her great-grandchildren, Mark Stuart Schipper age 2, Opal Rose Scott age 2 and LeRoy Fox Scott age 4 months; Betty’s brother and his wife, John and Gwen Hart of Le Mars; sister, Jane Fornoff of Chicago, Illinois; sister-in-law, Karen Breuer of Le Mars; and the families of Gary Wells, Daniel Wells, Douglas Wells and Patricia Minthorn.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, John and Claudine Hart; by parents-in-law, Wayne and Opal Schipper; by former husbands, Glenn Schipper and Fay Wells; and by her son, Mark Stuart Schipper.

Family interment services at Memorial Cemetery in Le Mars will occur at a later date.
