Council talks billboard leases

LE MARS A new lease agreement with Avery Brothers LLC for billboards placed in the city limits was given the OK by the Le Mars City Council at its Sept. 7 meeting.

This agreement will replace two existing 10-year agreements already in place. Avery Brothers, LLC requested the new agreement with additional wording on a recommendation from their lender.

The lease is for six billboard structures already in place at the following locations: north of County Road C-38; structures on Business Hwy. 75 west side of the airport; structure on Hwy. 75 behind Wells Blue Bunny; and structures on N. Business Hwy. 75.

Revenue from the structures is $12,800 per year over the term of the agreement.

The initial term of this lease is for 10 years beginning May 1, 2022.

The council approved a motion to approve a 10-year lease agreement with Avery Brothers, LLC for continued placement of billboards.

As part of the consent grouping items, the council approved the renewal of liquor licenses for two establishments, The Knights of Columbus and La Fiesta Charra were approved.
