Kingsley-Pierson wins pair of games over Lawton-Bronson
LAWTON ó The Kingsley-Pierson basketball teams picked up a pair of wins over Lawton-Bronson in action Tuesday.
The K-P boys snapped a three-game losing skid by knocking off the Eagles 51-43.
Four players put in all the points for the Panthers, led by Jackson Howe who scored 17 points. Malakie Christophersen added 14 points and Conner Beelner also reached double figures with 12 points. The remaining eight points went to Emerson Pratt.
The quartet each knocked down at least one 3-pointer as the team shot 8-of-14 from beyond the arc in the contest.
The win was the second of the season for the Panthers over their Western Valley Conference foe after winning the first meeting, the season opener for K-P, by a 47-24 score. The K-P boys improved to 5-7 with the win while the Eagles fell to 3-8.
The Class 1A No. 4 ranked Lady Panthers won their 13th straight contest to start the season by picking up a 61-36 win.
The Panthers held a slim three point lead at the end of a quarter before pulling away after that.
McKenzie Goodwin led the charge with 20 points, nine rebounds and a pair of blocks.
Brooklyn Beery was the teamís other double digit scorer with 14 points.
Delaney Iseminger led the team with four assists while Abbi Bailey picked up six steals to go along with their eight and five points, respectively.
Kendra Horsley led the Eagles with 11 points.
The Panthers have won the last eight meetings in the series which also includes a 57-43 win in the first meeting between the squads this season.
