Museum’s ‘Great Garage Sale’ begins Thursday
LE MARS — With pandemic rules in force at this week’s 2020 “Great Garage Sale,” sponsored by the Plymouth County Historical Museum, a mini-concession stand will be operating.
Featured in “Old Central” Gym will be pre-packaged cookies and bars from an area baker. Trays of cookies and bars also will be for sale, along with coffee and bottled water.
This year’s “Great Garage Sale” will go longer than usual, beginning Thursday evening, Oct. 15, and continuing for a week. The “Sneak Peek” Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m., will have a small admission. The rest of the “Great Garage Sale” will be free.
The sale will continue from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., both Friday, Oct. 16, and Saturday, Oct. 17. Hours for the rest of the month will depend on the sales over the weekend. The museum advises visitors after this weekend to call ahead to the museum, 546-7002.
Proceeds from the sale go to help the Museum continue its operations to preserve Plymouth County history.
Julie Leaverton once again is chairing this year’s sale in cooperation with other Museum volunteers. Norma Martfeld and Tena Harvey are her assistants.
The museum is located at 335 First Ave. S.W., Le Mars. All five floors are completely handicapped accessible.
