Le Mars second at MRAC golf tourney
SIOUX CITY — The Le Mars Community boys golf team claimed second place at the Missouri River Activities Conference tournament at Green Valley Golf Course on Tuesday.
“Great day for the Bulldogs,” Le Mars Head Coach Steve Wick said. “We had our best team score, two MRAC All-Conference team players in Dylan and Cam, and all-around improvement at Green Valley from our very first meet of the year.”
Le Mars shot a 334 team score which trailed only Sioux City East’s 319. East had four individuals within the top six.
Schuyler Warren of Sergeant Bluff-Luton was overall medalist with a 75, but the Bulldogs had two within top eight plus ties which were awarded All-Conference designation. Dylan Susemihl finished with an 81 score with nine-hole rounds of 39 and 42. Cameron Daggett was a stroke behind with an 82 score to also make the top eight. He posted nine-hole splits of 42 and 40.
Jaxon Baumgartner was just a stroke behind the cutoff for the top eight with an 85 and Ben Hoss ended just one stroke behind him to complete the team score.
Le Mars will gear up for their district meet to be held Monday at Whispering Creek Golf Club in Sioux City.
