Kingsley-Pierson wins in three over West Monona
KINGSLEY — After back-to-back grueling five-set matches, the Kingsley-Pierson volleyball team had a nice quick 3-0 win over West Monona in Western Valley Conference action Tuesday.
“Coming off a couple big games in the last week, they played well,” K-P Head Coach Torey Hill said. “Everything meshed together. We kind of got soft there in the third. We were down right away in the beginning in that third set, but we battled through and started hitting well again. Other than that, it was an all-around huge win. Everybody got to play tonight so it was just a really fun, huge group effort tonight.”
The Panthers won by set scores of 25-16, 25-10 and 25-21.
McKenzie Goodwin finished as the team’s leader in kills with 15 and did so with a nice .323 hitting percentage. She also led the team with seven ace serves and three blocks and was second on the team with 14 digs.
Anna Bubke hit .286 with eight kills while Chloe Peschau pitched in six kills in the match.
Abbi Bailey dug up a team-best 17 balls while Bubke was the team’s third in double digits in that category with 13.
Rachel Bohle had four ace serves and added three kills.
The Panthers improve to 3-3 with the win. They will return to action Tuesday in a WVC triangular at home against Lawton-Bronson and Siouxland Christian.
