Pictured from left: Remsen Knights of Columbus members Denny Slota, Marv Pottebaum, and Dr. Tim Russell make phone calls during the 40th Annual Plymouth County Phonothon for Life Skills on Wednesday, September 2. This year was a little different as a Chamber Coffee was not held to kick off the event as in year’s past due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Money raised through the annual fundraiser will be donated to Life Skills Training Center and the Iowa Special Olympics. Pledges from the Phonothon can still be dropped off at either American Bank or Iowa State Bank.

Many people dropped off their pledges at the VFW Hall during the Phonothon, which was Wednesday, September 2. Plymouth County Knights of Columbus members from Akron, Le Mars, and Remsen worked on calling people for pledges, while Kingsley members mailed out requests with return envelopes for pledges. This year’s goal is to raise $54,000 with a challenge goal of $56,000.
