Lois I. Wichers
Lois I. Wichers, 78, of Sioux Center, died Monday, March 9, 2020, at Royale Meadows Care Center in Sioux Center.
Lois I. Wichers was born Jan. 14, 1942, in Sioux Center, to John and Tracy (Van Bruggen) Vander Schaaf. She was raised on a farm west of Sioux Center and attended Western Christian school.
On May 2, 1961, she was united in marriage to Leon Wichers in Luverne, Minnesota.
Lois was a member of the Carmel Reformed Church in Carmel.
Lois enjoyed the Christmas season, especially decorating for Christmas. She kept her home tidy and enjoyed visiting with anyone around her.
Her family will remember her as a funny Grandma who loved to laugh.
She is survived by her husband of over 58 years, Leon Wichers of Sioux Center; sons, Leroy (Wanda) Wichers of Le Mars, and Lyndon (Rose) Wichers of Lincoln, Nebraska; daughter, Lori (Mike) Cain of Big Sky, Montana; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, John and Tracy Vander Schaaf; and a brother, Don Vander Schaaf.
Funeral service were at 11 a.m., Thursday, at Carmel Reformed Church in Carmel, with the Rev. Mike Pitsenberger officiating. Burial followed at the Carmel Cemetery.
Visitation was from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the Carmel Reformed Church of Carmel.

The Memorial Funeral Home of Sioux Center was in charge of arrangements.
