Catholic Schools Week 2020 Schedule

Remsen St. Mary’s will celebrate Catholic Schools Week 2020 from January 25-31. This year’s theme is “Learn, Serve, Lead, Succeed”. The following is a schedule of activities for each day of Catholic Schools Week.

Saturday, January 25th & Sunday, January 26 - Celebrating our Parish

• Students will be handing out cookies after Saturday night mass.

• Students participate in weekend masses.

Monday, January 27 - Celebrating Teachers, Staff, and Vocations

• Faculty and Staff Day

• Casual day for faculty/staff

• Honor Scholars and CLT bring teacher and staff treats to survive CSW

• 8:25 CSW Prayer Service

• Rolls served in the cafeteria

• Fr. Shane will speak to HS boys after prayer service - Kate speak to the HS girls.

• HS Virtus Retreat 10-12 (HS will have periods 6, 7, 8 after lunch.)

• JH girls BB @ Gehlen

• C & JV Boys BB home vs. SOB

• Book Fair

Tuesday, January 28 - Celebrating Faith (Periods 1-7, 8th period during WIN)

• Dress up day

• PK Fun Day @ the Launch Pad

• Living Rosary at 2:30 in the gym

• JV boys, V G/B @ Gehlen

• Book Fair

Wednesday, January 29 - Celebrating Community, Alumni, and Our Volunteers

• High school Fun Day - Students are asked to wear an RSM shirt with jeans.

• TK-1 Fun Day - Bowling and pizza

• Chamber Coffee 8:30-10:30 in the cafeteria hosted by 3rd and 4th graders

• Valentines for community members

• Recognize alumni that work at RSM and volunteers on social media

• PK-8 - “Dance to the Beat Soc Hop” - 1:00-3:00 in the gym. Our goal is to raise $250 to help the Remsen EMT’s in their purchase of a new defibrillator.

• Family Fun Night @ 6:30 in the Jim and Lou Arens Memorial Gym

• Book Fair

Thursday, January 30 - Celebrating Students (Middle school will eat at 11:45; high school will eat at 12:15.)

• Casual day for students

• Homeroom teachers/HS moderators write positive messages for each student and post on lockers, desks, etc.

P• S-4 - 2:00-3:00 PK-4 students can invite parents, grandparents, family members for a Digital Breakout Activity in classroom.

• 5-8 - 12:30-1:30 Middle school students can invite parents, grandparents, family members for a Digital Breakout Activity in classroom.

• 9-12 can invite parents, grandparents, family members to have lunch with them.

• Friends of St. Mary’s will be greeting students at the doors of both buildings at 7:30.

• Throwback Thursday- Past RSM apparel

• JH girls game home vs. West Sioux

• Book Fair

Friday, January 31 - Celebrating Families (We will run periods 1-5 using the 1:16 early out schedule.)

• Mass at 11:00 - church

• Family picnic to follow in the Jim and Lou Arens Memorial Gym

• Dismissal after the picnic

• Book Fair
