Le Mars trio races at IATC Senior All-Star Meet

The meet is eligible for senior runners who have ran under a certain time during the season. Calhoun was a member of the top seven runners for the West team who won the team title over the East team.

ANKENY A week after competing at the state cross country meet, Le Mars Communitys Chloe Calhoun was back in action along with a pair of her Le Mars teammates for the IATC Senior All-Star Meet held at the DMACC Campus in Ankeny on Saturday, Nov. 9.

Calhoun, who finished 56th in Class 3A with a time of 20:26.6 the week prior, was one of the counting seven runners for the West team which posted a lower score than their counterparts from the East. Calhoun finished 11th overall out of the 39 competing all-star girls. She finished with a time of 20:54.5 as she ended one spot in front of West teammate and Spencer runner Elisa Fisher who ended exactly at the 21 minute mark.

Kara Albrecht got to race one final time after missing out on a fourth run at the state meet. She finished 31st with a time of 23:11.6. Paige Washburn finished about eight seconds and three places behind with a 34th place time of 23:19.2

Emily Staal, the Class 2A state runner-up from Springville-Central City, led the East team with the winning time of 19:10.4.

All participants in the event must have been seniors in good standing who posted a time below the 21:50 threshold during their senior season.
