MMCRU races at middle school state

ANKENY ó The 26th Washburn Classic, the middle school state cross country championships, was held at Ankeny Centennial High School on Oct. 19 and included runners from MMCRU.

In the 3200 meter races, Jace Colling finished 10th overall out of 59 runners in the seventh grade boys competition. His time was 13:19. The top time in the race came from Kohlby Newsom of Winfield-Mt. Union who ended in 12:36.2.

Hannah Doellinger was 39th out of 54 runners in the eighth grade girls race. She finished with a time of 16:31. The winning time was 13:20.2 from Rowen Fisk of Earlham.

Three Royals competed in the eighth grade boys race which included 90 participants. Kaden Galles had a fifth place finish with a time of 12:07 which was a minute behind the winning time from Madridís Ethan Loutzenheiser.

Kyler Bork took 78th in 16:08.1 and Mason Peters was 82nd in 16:19.9.
