The Remsen Chamber of Commerce held their 21st Annual Golf Tournament on Wed., August 7, 2019, with a 10:30 a.m. shotgun start at the Remsen Golf Course. Twenty teams participated in the four-person best ball golf outing.

Remsen Chamber board member Shane Bork stated, "Lunch was donated and served by WesTel Systems, and new this year, our supper was provided by Klein On 9 in which they had a burger bar with sides. Both lunch and supper were delicious."

The top three finishers in the tournament were first place - MMCRU Schools, second place - Matgen Insurance, and third place - Remsen Farmers Coop. There were also multiple pin prize winners for categories such as Closest to Pin, Longest Drive, Longest Putt, and Shortest Drive.

Bork expressed how the event went, "The event went very smooth this year, we were thankful for no weather delays. The heat and little to no wind was challenging but every team seemed to be having a great time. The tournament was full for the second straight year, capping out with 20 teams on the nine-hole course. Overall, just a great day of golf and outstanding food! Again we were just very happy for the turnout and thankful for the businesses who participated."

Bork also thanked the workers at the Remsen Golf Course for their help with the event, "I would like to thank Russ and Kim at the golf course for their assistance in putting on this year's tournament; their help is much appreciated! Also, a shout out to the greens crew as the course looked amazing!"

The Remsen Chamber of Commerce appreciates and thanks the following businesses for participating in this year's event: American Bank (two teams), Carl's Body Shop (two teams), City of Remsen, Floyd Valley Healthcare, Iowa State Bank, Matgen Insurance (two teams), Mid-Sioux Opportunity, Inc., Miller Auto, MMCRU Schools, Mrs. B's Convenience Store, Northwest Iowa Mutual Insurance, Remsen Farmers Coop, Remsen Processing, Remsen VFW & American Legion, Smith Insurance Services, Schorg Ag Supply, and WesTel Systems.
