Work on the skateboard park in the northeast corner of O’Toole Park on First Avenue Northeast is on schedule, City Administrator Jason Vacura told city council members Aug. 6. The project is one of the CBP II projects the Le Mars Area Betterment Foundation is assisting in funding. In December 2018, the council approved two contracts for a total $264,000 for the construction. The city contracted with the Sioux City Skateboard Association and Artisan Skateparks, along with their affiliated contractors, to construct the approximately 7,000-square-foot facility. Once it is completed, city workers will complete final landscaping around the area, according to Vacura.
