Hinton runner-up, Gehlen third in boys War Eagle track meet
ORANGE CITY — Hinton earned just one event win but still managed to place high enough in several other events to finish as runner-up in the team standings at the War Eagle Conference meet held Monday, April 29 at De Valois Stadium. The Blackhawks scored 103 points which trailed conference champion Unity Christian’s 141 points but was better than third place Gehlen Catholic’s 89 points.
MMCRU’s Jordan Marks was second in the shot put with a throw of 42-06.
Along with Marks’ second place shot put placing for the Royals, MMCRU had a fourth place finish in the 3200 from Brett Staab who ended in 11:19.77. Staab was also sixth in the 800 in a time of 2:16.83 which was 0.02 in front of the next runner on the cutoff for points.
Remsen St. Mary’s earned points on three different events with sixth place in each. Damen Brownmiller was sixth in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.36 and Jeremy Koenck earned the same place with a 25.05 time in the 200. The 4x200 team added a sixth place time of 1:42.30.
