Lawton-Bronson edges Hinton for team trophy at West Sioux Relays
HAWARDEN — Three and a half points were all that separated Hinton from Lawton-Bronson and a team title at the West Sioux Coed Relays held Thursday, May 2.
Gehlen was third in the team standings and finished with 101 points.
The Westerners earned points earlier in the meet in the throwing events as Levi Hemmelrich finished in second place in the discus with a toss of 126-01 and ended third in the shot put with a distance of 41-05, just a quarter inch behind second place Jordan Marks of MMCRU. Marks finished in fourth in the discus with a spin of 121-09.50.
Remsen St. Mary’s three points came from a fifth place finish in the 4x200 relay along with a sixth place result in the individual 200 by Jeremy Koenck who ended in 24.96 seconds.
All of the local schools except for RSM will be competing each other once again on Monday, May 6 in Marcus at the Jack Foresman Relays. The Hawks will be at a meet at Sioux Central on Monday, May 6.
