Royals Bowlers compete for trip to State
On Tuesday, February 12, the MMC/RU-RSM bowlers competed in a state qualifying tournament in Council Bluffs.
On the boys side, junior Ethan Riedemann led the way with a two game total of 439. His score was third out of all 42 bowlers at the competition. The top two scores were from Cody Salker and Braeden Johnson, both of Sergeant Bluff-Luton. Fellow MMCRU junior Mitch Rhodes followed with a total of 387, while senior Drew Pierce rounded out the top three with 376.
When it was all said and done, the Royals finished third out of the seven schools who participated, trailing Sergeant Bluff-Luton and OABCIG.
On the girls side, senior Bailey Penning led the team with a two game total of 307. Other notable scores for the team were Blacey Stodden and Hailey Klein with 283 and 276 respectively.
At the end of the meet, the Royals finished in fifth place, behind Harlan, OABCIG, Sergeant Bluff-Luton, and Tri-Center.
