EVERLY — Two-time defending state qualifier Remsen St. Mary’s got off to a good start in their latest season with a 69-16 win over Clay Central-Everly.

Three players scored in double digits with two more within two points of that mark for the Hawks as they dominated the game from start to finish. RSM led 20-4 after a quarter and scored in double digits in every frame while holding the Mavericks to single digits and no points in the final quarter.

Spencer Schorg finished with 17 points to lead the team as he knocked down two of the team’s three 3-pointers. He added four rebounds and assists.

Brady Homan led the way in rebounding with six boards and scored 15 points on a 6-of-8 shooting night.

Blaine Harpenau tacked on 12 points and five rebounds while Skyler Waldschmitt ended with nine points and freshman Austin Jensen came off the bench to add eight.

RSM (1-0) will travel to play South O’Brien on Friday, November 30.
