Seventh summer production to provide music, memories
OKOBOJI ó The Okoboji Summer Theatre has announced its seventh production of the summer: Rodgers and Hammersteinís A Grand Night For Singing, a musical revue with music by Richard Rodgers and lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II.
The production runs from Tuesday, July 24, through Sunday, July 29, and is sponsored by Anne Thorne Weaver and Rosemarie and Dennis Ward.
The public is invited to come relive the timeless music and memories of some of their favorite shows: Me and Juliet, State Fair, Flower Drum Song, and the Broadway classics Carousel, Oklahoma!, The King and I, South Pacific, Cinderella and The Sound of Music.
Featuring dynamic singing and dancing, this show will have attendees walking out of the theater humming and moving to your favorite tune.
Directed and choreographed by OST Artistic Director Stephen Brotebeck, the cast features several professional guest actors along with students of Stephens College.
Curtain times are Tuesday through Saturday at 8 p.m.; Saturday matinee at 4:30 p.m., and Sunday at 6 p.m.
